Visiting the bays
Whoever visits Ogliastra should not miss the opportunity of a trip along the oriental coast with its stunning, crystal-clear waters on board one of the many tourist boats. During the trip, the passengers can see sheer rock faces, peaks, spectacular precipices and provocative marine caves in just 40km of an uncontaminated coastline.
Visits to the coves via motorboat
During the summer period, tourists are taken by motorboat to see the enchanting coves of North Ogliastra. The outing can be chosen by the passenger, in fact, there is the possibility to stop at one of the various coves for the entire day or stay on board to visit all the coves and the Grotte del Bue Marino or the Grotta del Fico caves.

After travelling for about half an hour, and having passed Perda Longa and Capo Monte Santo, and the cove of Cala Goloritzè, you arrive at the beautiful beaches frequented by tourists every summer. You can choose to stay at Cala Mariolu, or conitnue until the swimming breaks at Cala Biriola, Cala Sisine, or Cala Luna. You arrive at Cala Sisine for lunch at the "Su Coile" restaurant designed in the form of the old shepherds' huts. All the beaches are full of colours that wouldn't look out of place in the tropics.
At around 16.00, you depart for a visit to the Grotta del Fico cave with its entrance at 7m above sea level. Thanks to the gangways, you can leave the boat and enter the cave in the company of a guide, the visit lasting about an hour. Afterwards, the boat begins its return journey towards the port of Santa Maria Navarrese and Arbatax, arriving at around 18.00. There are services present at Cala Sisine and Cala Luna; for the other coves, it is necessary to take food and drink.

Prices: around 25.00 € - 35.00 € pro person, during the summer, June - September. August is high season; the price is the highest. Prices don't include: lunch and cave's ticket. Grotta del Fico and Grotta dale Bue Marino ticket: € 8.00 for Adults.
